Urgent Care vs. Emergency Room Utilization:

The wait at an emergency room can be extremely long due to overcrowding and for treating many minor injuries.

The CDC estimates that only 35 percent of all emergency room visits are 15 minutes or shorter and that 9 percent of all visits require inpatient hospitalization. In addition, just under a third of all ER visits nationwide are non-threatening and could be treated in an urgent care center.

AFC Urgent Care Southlake provides an ER alternative where patients with minor and non-life-threatening injuries without long waits and at an affordable cost. Many services provided by our center include:

  • Bone sprains, breaks, and fractures
  • Muscle, back, and joint pains
  • Cut and laceration treatments that require suturing
  • Cold and influenza
  • Stomach bugs, aches,
  • Throat pain and coughs
  • Minor skin rashes and insect bites
  • Lab testing, including STD testing

Insured patients at our center receive urgent care treatment at standard copay rates for specialist care. Uninsured patients can also receive care at out-of-pocket rates that are usually lower than the ER. We accept walk-in patients, but patients can always schedule an appointment by calling us at 469-640-4232.
